BONITA description

BONITA – Baltic Organisation and Network of Technology Transfer Associations promotes interregional development by turning university research into business value.

Research cooperation as well as knowledge transfer between public research organisations and industry are regarded as insufficiently developed within the European innovation system. To develop the Baltic Sea Region into a high-tech region the available scientific knowledge needs to be successfully transferred into practice. BONITA contributes to bridging the knowledge gaps between universities, laboratories, industrial actors, and policy makers.

Project activities include:

  • The evaluation of existing technology and innovation transfer models in the Baltic Sea Region to develop an enhanced transfer model;
  • Training to strengthen the capacities of organisations responsible for regional technology transfer;
  • The establishment of a BONITA network company to support commercial exploitation and promotion of research findings;
  • The demonstration how virtual exhibitions and showrooms can practically be used for marketing research results in the field of mobile and wearable computing devices.

BONITA consortium represents universities, research and technological development supporters as well as public authorities from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The project is part-financed by the European Union’s Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013.
